Team/division description:
The International Tax Department (ITD) of TME, based in Brussels, ensures the VAT compliance for TME and Affiliates across the wider European region and is responsible for the overall VAT management of the wider European operations for Toyota Group.

Your responsibilities:
A major part of your activity will consist of being responsible for performing a first line review of allocated VAT reporting for TME and its Affiliates in different EU Member States (including the implemented regulation for obligatory submission of Standard Audit Files where required). In this respect, you will be the first contact with local tax authorities in wider Europe to discuss different VAT compliance issues.
Standard and more complex external VAT audits for TME and its Affiliates in different European countries will also be under your control and responsibility. Additionally, you will coordinate, consolidate and submit statistical returns for TME in Europe.
You will follow-up and report to ITD management on VAT compliance issues and you will provide advice and guidance for new projects & business flows to ensure VAT compliance and avoidance of VAT cost for Toyota Group. The latter whilst always applying a full cost/benefit analysis and thorough analysis of facts, business conditions and legislation. In this respect, close collaboration with the different tax functions will be required (amongst which Customs & Trade, Transfer Pricing, Corporate Income Tax).
You will prepare independently replies to urgent and strategic questions raised by the different business units in TME and Affiliates. Identify VAT issues, provide countermeasures and set action plan. In this respect, you will define also deliverables and milestones for VAT projects in specific EU countries or for specific Toyota companies.
For development of yourself and others within Toyota Group, you will be able to attend trainings and prepare and give training yourself on VAT compliance topics to different stakeholders in wider Europe.
As ITD is within Toyota Group recognized as “Centre of Excellence for Toyota Group in Europe”, you will also assist in preparation and roll-out of new procedures, policies and processes.

Your profile:
* Graduate and/or university degree in Economics, Tax or Law
* 2-4 years of relevant work experience in VAT – international VAT is definitely a big asset
* Proven strong analytical skills
* Accurate and well-organized
* Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint – knowledge of Oracle R12 is an asset
* Proficiency in English is required, any other European language is an asset (Polish, Spanish or Italian)
* Flexible to travel max. 2d/ month
* Valid driving license for Europe
